TAQEEM™, the region’s first healthcare licensing examination center, will sponsor comprehensive examinations for healthcare professionals, including those in the fields of medicine, nursing, complementary alternative medicine and allied health, for licensure by DHCC and other affiliated licensing organizations in the UAE and other countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).Through its licensing examinations, TAQEEM will provide DHCC and other affiliated licensing organizations a uniform evaluation system to determine the minimum level of competency for healthcare professional licensure. The examinations, with their unique criteria, will raise the quality of healthcare being delivered by healthcare professionals in DHCC, the UAE and the region, by standardizing the entry of those professionals and ensuring that only qualified professionals who meet standards for the delivery of high quality healthcare are licensed to provide healthcare services Medical Licensing Examination Programs:
The Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ), the regulatory body of DHCC established as a joint venture between DHCC and its strategic partner, Partners Harvard Medical International, is collaborating with the United States National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®) in the development and administration of TAQEEM™’s Medical Licensing Examination Program. The Program will offer a comprehensive series of examinations for the licensure of medical doctors wishing to practice both general and specialty medicine in DHCC and in other affiliated licensing entities. Such examinations will include:
*Medical Licensing Examination – General (MLE-G);
*Clinical Skills Assessment;
*An array of licensing examinations to assess knowledge across the range of medical specialties; and
*Chart Stimulated Recall (CSR) Examination Program or similar case-based oral examination program.
TAQEEM™’s Medical Licensing Examination Program represents the first time that NBME® has collaborated with another entity for the development, implementation and administration of a comprehensive program of medical licensure examinations in the Gulf region.
