Dubai Department of Finance launches ’Government Service Prices Portal’

Dubai Government’s Department of Finance, DOF, has officially launched the Government Service Prices Portal. Through this launch, the DOF has introduced the public, government entities and private sector companies, to the tariffs and fines approved by the Dubai government. The portal lists 7,962 price lines accredited by 23 government entities in Dubai distributed into six sectors, in both Arabic and English.

The government service prices portal system was developed using the advanced Qlik Analytics Platform, which allows its users to get more insights about the Dubai Government Service Prices. The Qlik Analytics Platform is an open platform on which Qlik’s global community of developers can build custom analytic applications based on rich front-end and back-end Application Programming Interfaces, APIs.

DOF is the first government entity to use this platform to build open data systems in the Middle East. Utilising Qlik’s platform enabled DOF to develop, extend, and embed visual analytics in government portals, all done within a common governance and security framework.

Huda Hamdan Al Shaikh, Director of Technical Support and Development Division at DOF said, "In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we are committed to contributing to the digital transformation process in Dubai, to make the city one of the happiest and smartest in the world."

"DOF continues to keep pace with the visions and aspirations of the government entities and private sector companies in Dubai, as well as meeting the expectation of Dubai’s residents by providing easy access to information on the prices of government services fees and fines among others. Therefore, we were so keen to implement the Government Service Prices portal project to provide the prices of all government services in all its categories and the various revenue channels, building on the principles of openness and transparency which we abide by," she added.

The Government Service Prices portal is based on the Government service fees and fines database, as per Law No. 26 for the year 2015 on the organisation of data dissemination and exchange in Dubai. The project is an automated system that contains a database developed and hosted by DOF, being the unified reference for the fees and fines in the government of Dubai.

The database includes the prices of all government service fees and penalties, which are divided according to clear classifications that serve all stakeholders, according to Al Shaikh, who confirmed that the launch of a unified government database for fees and fines would facilitate online access for individuals and government entities to all government services fees and fines.

"The idea of creating a sophisticated system of an integrated database of Government Service Prices in Dubai aims to translate the vision of data spreading and exchange in the emirate," Al Shaikh explained. "Having a centralised and unified database of Government Service Prices and fines at DOF, which serves as the standard reference for Dubai Government’s fees and fines, supports stakeholders including government entities and dealers who use Dubai government services."
