Grand Final of the Luckiest Ball on Earth competition
Over 1,000 players began the journey but only one golfer will win a place in the Rolex Pro-Am at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai following today’s (Sunday) Grand Final of the 2013 Luckiest Ball On Earth competition on the Fire course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. A once in a lifetime chance to play with one of the top 60 players on The European Tour is the ultimate prize and one that will be contested by the 21 finalists representing golf clubs affiliated to the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF).The winner will secure a place in a star-studded Pro-Am and walk the fairways and greens of the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates with teams featuring the likes of Race to Dubai leader Henrik Stenson, US Open Champion Justin Rose, 2011 Race to Dubai winner Martin Kaymer and 2009 Race to Dubai and DP World Tour Championship winner Lee Westwood as playing pros.
The DP World Tour Championship Rolex Pro-Am will take place on Tuesday 12 November just 48 hours before The Race to Dubai reaches a dramatic conclusion with the US$8 million DP World Tour Championship from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 November. For the runner-up in the Luckiest Ball on Earth Grand Final there is also a fitting prize in the shape of two corporate hospitality tickets for the opening day’s play of the DP World Tour Championship on Thursday 14 November.
“During September, we saw 1,018 players compete in 21 qualifying events all over the UAE, which underlines how much our amateur golfers value the opportunity of competing alongside the very best in the Rolex Pro-Am,” said Nick Tarratt, Director European Tour International, Dubai Office.
“Our thanks go to the Emirates Golf Federation and all the affiliated clubs for their support and, of course, to our host venue at Jumeirah Golf Estates for allowing us to stage the Grand Final on the Fire course, while the Earth course is prepared for the DP World Tour Championship.”
