About Dubai Cultural Council
The Dubai Cultural Council was established on the 12th of January, through a decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of The UAE and the Ruler of Dubai.The articles of the ruling delineate the aims of the Council and sets out guidelines for the cultural progress of Dubai. The articles chalk out a clear role for the DCC by emphasizing the scope of contribution through various activities, to the varied vistas of artistic and literary expression. Therefore, the DCC would endeavour to enrich drama, cinema, painting, sculpture, literature, music, folklore and other creative fields to facilitate the emergence of a cultural kaleidoscope that is rich, vibrant and progressive.
Dubai Cultural Council
The Emirate of Dubai seeks to achieve cultural and artist development. Culture is a main component of society developing culture in Dubai is necessary to strike a balance with the other accomplishments in infastructure and technology. In this behalf, Dubai Cultural Council will work on developing and nurturing could go through the coordinating with cultural centers and creating the ways of delivering arts and culture. Dubai Cultural Council will also work hard to attract the local society into arts and culture and encourage it to participate in supporting the cultural activities by attending and watching those activities.

Fine Arts

Theatre, Cinema and Music
Theatre activity in the UAE started after Independence on December 2nd, 1971 and benefited from famous Arab directors like Zaki Tulaimat, Al Munsif Al Suweisi, Saqer Al Rushoud, Jawad Al Assadi, Abdul Illah Abdul Qader and others. Theatres continue to develop all through the 1930’s with great new talent appearing in acting, production and play writing. A number of UAE distinguished theatric works have won awards in local, regional and Arab theatric festivals. Theatrice activities in Dubai are mainly found in three theatres, The National Youth Arts Theatre, Dubai Popular Arts Theatre and Dubai Al Ahli Theatre.
