Dubai Air Show

The Dubai Air Show has grown steadily since its inception in 1996 and now stands as the largest air show in the Middle East.

Dubai 2005 continues this momentum with an expanded show site that is expected to host 30,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries and nearly 150 official delegations from 50 countries. The air show will feature a roughly equal mix of civilian and government exhibitors, and it will be a trade-only, business-to-business exhibition, allowing exhibitors to focus entirely on their customers and key contacts. Dubai 2005, the ninth international aerospace exhibition, will see the global launch of a groundbreaking software system enabling airlines to accurately record fleet technical log data, comply with aviation authorities’ requirements, save costs and increase asset utilisation.

The world’s first software to provide a holistic view of every aspect of an airline’s operational and maintenance activity – from the office, at remote outstations and the flight deck – will be unveiled during the Dubai air show in November, by aviation and defence computing solutions designer, Russell Adams.

“Sector-specific I.T. solutions are critical to the commercial success and safety record in the airline industry and the strong presence of software providers at Dubai 2005 is certain to attract interest from regional and international MRO chiefs,” said Clive Richardson, Chief Executive Officer, Aerospace Division, Fairs & Exhibitions, organiser of the Dubai air show.

“As the Y2K example showed, I.T. applications are critical to the safety of the aviation industry which spent a collective US$ 2.3 billion in the last few months before the dawn of the 21st century.” Dubai 2005 will be held at Airport Expo Dubai from November 20 - 24 and is organised by F&E in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces. Meanwhile, business jets will be in firm focus both at the show and at the first Middle East Business Aviation conference which will run at Le Meridien Dubai on November 19th. The conference is being organised by F&E in conjunction with Abu Dhabi-headquartered international luxury VIP aircraft charter company, Royal Jet.
