Marhaba Services reflecting hospitality in Dubai
“Marhaba” means “welcome” in Arabic – and it reflects the warmth and hospitality of the Arab culture. It is also the hallmark of Dubai’s Marhaba Services. Operated by Dnata, part of the Emirates group, Marhaba was launched in December 1991 as an exclusive meet and greet service for passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport. It has now been expanded to cover four principal areas: Standard and Diamond Meet and Greet Service, the Marhaba Lounge and Marhaba CityStop. In addition, optional extras include visa delivery, floral services and a limousine service. All services are available to cash customers, while corporate organizations whose staff is regular users of the airport can take advantage of the Marhaba Services Corporate Membership scheme.The Marhaba service staff is easily identifiable by their bright yellow jackets. The staff at Dubai International Airport has been professionally trained to cater to every customer expectation, offering friendly and efficient service at all stages of the meet and greet process.
Drawn from a variety of nationalities and cultures, they are multi-lingual and experienced in catering to the needs of tourists, families, VIP passengers and corporate business clients – backed by the latest computer technology to ensure every passenger requirement is recorded and monitored. And, they are always on call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Those passengers requiring particular assistance can call on the services of Marhaba’s Special Handling Team, where dedicated staff is trained to look after the elderly, unaccompanied children, younger travelers on their own and wheelchair passengers. The team works closely with airline representatives to ensure those in their care reach the departure gates on time and receive priority boarding, while also taking care of their needs in and around the airport concourse. In addition, a lounge at the airport has been dedicated for their use. To distinguish them from Marhaba staff, the special handling team is dressed in black jackets, and is on call 24 hours daily.
Marhaba Services’ 24-hour counter in Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport is manned by friendly staff conversant in English and Arabic, as well as Persian, Russian, Urdu and Hindi, to cater to the high number travelers from these regions.
