MUSS Dubai
Manchester United Soccer Schools programme is a recreational grass-roots project brought to the region by Dubai Sports City that enables young boys and girls aged between 7 and 16 years of various nationalities to experience the MUSS coaching philosophy, which is specially adapted from the coaching programme at Manchester United’s Youth Academy. The coaching program has been developed to deliver courses focusing on individual success and achievement. Since MUSS began in 1999, 50,000 children, from around the world, have benefited from this unique experience. It follows an holistic approach highlighting the importance of youth development off the training field as well as on it.For 2006-07 the experienced MUSS coaching team has come up with yet another exciting and innovative coaching program specifically for players in the UAE. Based on principles used by Manchester United’s world famous Academy the program will test newcomers and seasoned players alike. Focusing on the individual, the program will help players to become the best that they can be, irrespective of their age or ability. Utilising MUSS coaching equipment, such as dribbling mannequins, passing gates and shooting targets, players will be coached the skills of the game and encouraged to grow, develop and love the game.
During the twenty week programme there will be additional sessions allocated to players who miss their weekly sessions. The Al Wasl Sports Club will be equipped with a full set of MUSS coaching equipment as well as receiving expert coaching, children will have their progress monitored regularly by specially adapted skills tests. All players will receive a full MUSS-Nike training kit, a MUSS goody bag and regular newsletters. At the end of the course, each participant will receive a certificate and a personalized coaching assessment. The programme is directed at improving fundamental football skills with much emphasis on enjoyment, personal achievement and personal development.
