Dubai Parachuting Championship and Gulf Cup 2010

Billed as the biggest parachuting championship to be held on the global stage so far, it features almost 400 jumpers, including women, from 45 different countries. One of the biggest highlights of the championship, which is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, is the inclusion of canopy piloting (CP) where speed, distance and zone accuracy will be the key to scoring points.

1. VENUE: Dubai, UAE
Dubai is one of the seven Emirates and the most populous state of the United Arab Emirates(UAE). It is located along the southern coast of the Arabian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.
This venue offers plenty of hotels, shops and beaches. The Championships Competition Drop Zone site will be located on the beach.

2. EVENTS
Formation Skydiving (FS) and Accuracy Landing (AL):
Team Male (= open – mixed teams allowed – male and female) /Female
8 rounds for Formation Skydiving
Validation for Formation Skydiving event is 4 rounds
10 rounds for Accuracy Landing
Individual results will be taken from Team Jump Score plus semi and final rounds.
Validation for the Accuracy Landing event is 5 rounds
Canopy Piloting (CP):
Speed/ Distance/ Zone Accuracy
3 rounds in each event, validation for the event is 1 round.

* All events are open to all participating countries that are affiliated FAI members and invited Guest Teams that are not yet FAI members.

Dubai Parachuting Championship and Gulf Cup 2010 will be conducted in conjunction as one overall competition.

Results for each competition event will be taken from placing in each event. Countries may enter with more than ONE (1) complete team in each event for the Dubai Parachuting Championship BUT -Each NAC must determine on the Final registration
form which of the registered teams are considered to be the national representative team for each event in the Dubai Championships.

Only the nominated teams will be eligible for trophies/medals for the Dubai Championships.

3. AIMS
• To determine champions for the DUBAI PARACHUTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
• To determine champions for the GULF CUP 2010
• To determine the placing of the competing teams and individuals for the DUBAI
PARACHUTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
• To determine the placing of the competing teams and individuals for the GULF CUP 2010
• To establish new UAE records.
• To promote and develop parachuting competitions.
• To exchange and strengthen friendly relations between sport parachutists all over the world.

4. AWARDS:
A TOTAL PRIZE MONEY OF USD 230,000.—will be issued to the winning Teams
DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZE MONEY: PRIZE MONEY LIST ATTACHED

TROPHIES AND MEDALS will be awarded separately for the:
Dubai Parachuting Championship and Gulf Cup 2010
Placing for the Dubai Parachuting Championship 2010 will be determined from results obtained in the same event.

(All participating judges must attend)

11. TEAMS:
These combined championships (Dubai Parachuting Championship and Gulf Cup 2010) will have many competitors and events.Time will be precious to ensure that the full program is completed.

TEAMS ARE EXPECTED TO BE A COMPLETE ENTITY FOR EACH EVENT. Therefore there will be no interchanging of team members or video cameraman during the
championships in order to accommodate teams that may not have sufficient members to compete in an event. Complete mixed Teams for the Accuracy and 4way event are allowed.

12. VIDEOGRAPHERS (VIDEO CAMERAMAN):
FS teams should preferably have their own video cameraman. If this is not possible a cameraman may be available provided the requisition is submitted to the organizers at least 6 weeks before the competition commences.

An additional fee will apply to cover the video cameraman expenses.

13. AIRCRAFT:
Civilian and military aircraft will be provided for all events.

14. WEATHER
Average daytime temperature during January is 24.0º (high) and 14.3º (low) during the day with cool nights.

15. WIND SPEED:
Average wind speed is 3-5 m/s. (6 - 10 knts). Main wind direction from
West/Northwest.

16. DROP ZONE ALTITUDE:
0 feet ASL

17. ORIENTATION JUMP:
One orientation jump prior the competition jumps will be granted.
For any additional training jumps, costs will apply as follows:
Accuracy USD 15
Formations Skydiving USD 25
Canopy Piloting USD 15

18. INSURANCE:
1. Personal Health insurance and repatriation coverage are the responsibility of each
participant and is highly advisable.
2. Personal 3rd Party Liability Insurance for Skydiving is the responsibility of the individual
Skydiver.
3. Any damage to hotel rooms etc. is the responsibility of the persons involved.
4. Personal items and equipment are the responsibility of each participant.

19. ENTRY FEE:
Paid through Bank:
Participating Teams USD 600.00 per person
• Head of Delegations and 1 Judge for each team will be exempted from the Entry Fee
• Invited/selected Judges by the Committee will be exempted from the Entry Fee
Late Fee / Upon Arrival (cash) USD 20.00 per person

ENTRY FEE: Includes accommodation, meals from dinner on day of arrival 06th January 2010 breakfast on departure day 18th January 2010, transport from/to Dubai International Airport, local transportation, all competition jumps and one
orientation jump.
