New Govt Strategy Focus on Prosperity, Education, Health
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled the second phase of the federal government’s strategy from 2011 till 2013 that focuses on providing the highest levels of prosperity for citizens and further enhancing the level of the country’s education and healthcare systems.His vision statement came during a workshop especially organised for the purpose by the competent working group of government bodies. Shaikh Mohammed attended a presentation introducing the government’s strategy that is based on the country’s 2021 vi- sion. The highlights of this strategy in- volves seven broad principles of policy and seven key priorities. It also focuses on social development and the improvement of governmental services so as to enhance UAE’s stature worldwide.
The new priorities call for building a coherent community whose identity is derived from the strength of family cohesion in the UAE, establishing a world class learning system based on development of knowledge and skills of students, upgrading the health care sector at par with best international standards and building a knowledge- based economy. The emphasis is also on entrenching a fair justice system and creating a sustainable environment and integrated infrastructure that preserves natural resources and reduces pollution and helps retain the UAE’s positive image internationally.
Among the top government enablers are the development of human resources, delivery of excellent government services, sound financial management, enhancement of transparency in financial systems, and promotion of the culture of corporate governance.
These enablers also include boosting the inter-government interactive network, bolstering inter-government strategic partnerships, enacting viable legislation and integrated policies, and improving quality of data and statistics.
It would also mean encouraging effective government communications and developing a unified corporate identity.

He also said that a leader should be able to lead in any field of work and should always be prepared to give of his best for the country.
He said, "We are united in vision, ambition and target and our priority is the citizen who constitutes the back- bone of our government strategy and is the prime concern of the wise leadership spearheaded by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He indicated that the strategy forms the strongest stepping stone for achieving the UAE vision 2021 and called on all forces in the community to engage in this partnership with the government.
The workshop was attended by Mo- hammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and about 180 young government leaders.
