UAE Financial Market News

09 June 2010. Can UAE stocks get any more listless? Neither market saw any significant movement today, and trading volumes seem to be drying up as the summer heat sets in. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1410 UAE time, DP World is up 1.4%, and Depa is down 0.14%.

Dubai Financial Market

Dubai stocks saw little change with the index moving down just 0.05% to 1513 points from turnover of just AED 92m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the most active stock, unchanged at 3.10 from AED 42m. Arabtec (ARTC) was the only other stock trading more than AED 10m, down 1.0% to 1.94 from just AED 14.5m. Al Madina Finance (ALMADINA) and International Financial Advisers (IFA) were the worst losers, closing 10% limit down but from just one trade in the case of IFA.

Dubai Investment Company (DIC) fell 1.55%, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 0.49%, and the other losers all fell on less than AED 1m worth of trading. Only 4 gainers saw trading worth more than AED 1m - Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) up 1.9%, Drake & Scull (DSI) up 1.2%, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) up 0.70%, and Union Properties (UPP) up 0.55%. Emirates NBD (ENBD) was unchanged at 2.66.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

Abu Dhabi stocks were almost unchanged at 2525 points with the index closing in the green by just 0.02% from turnover of AED 58m. Dana Gas (DANA) was the most active stock, down 1.45% to 0.67 from just AED 15m, and Aldar Properties (ALDAR) was the only other stock trading more than AED 10m, down 0.65% to 3.05 from AED 11.5m. National Bank of Umm Al Quwain (NBQ) and International Fish Farming (ASMAK) were the top gainers closing 10% limit up but from just one small trade each.

Aabar Energy (AABAR) was the only gainer trading more than AED 1m worth, up 0.63% to 1.60. Foodco Holding (FOODCO) was the worst loser, down 8.3% to 2.00 from just one small trade. Waha Capital (OILC) was the worst loser trading more than AED 1m worth, down 1.8% to 0.54, the other losers fell less than 1% or on low volumes. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) fell 0.48% to 10.40, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was unchanged at 10.00.
