UAE Financial Market News

19 September 2010. UAE stocks rose, especially in Dubai, with the index led by a gain in Emirates NBD, and trading volumes up, with an insignificant boost from Emaar selling all 200,000 of its treasury stock at a loss. On the Nasdaq Dubai, DP World is down 0.91%, and Depa is up 0.16%.

Dubai Financial Market

Dubai stocks rose 2.2% to 1683 points from trading worth AED 431m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the only stock trading more than AED 100m worth, up 1.6% to 3.85 from AED 142m. Dubai Investment Company (DIC) was the top gainer, up 7.6% to 0.97, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) rose 5.95%.

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 4.6%, Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) 3.7%, and most other active stocks were up between 1% and 3%. Emirates NBD (ENBD) rose 2.6% to 2.80. There were only 3 losers, with only Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) trading more than AED 1m, falling 0.32% to 0.31.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

Abu Dhabi stocks rose 0.98% to 2632 points from trading worth AED 187m with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) the most actively traded stock, up 2.92% to 2.48 from AED 79m. Apart from a couple of small trades in Union Cement (UCC) (10% limit up), and Al Khazna Insurance (AKIC); Waha Capital (OILC) was the best of the more active gainers, up 5.6% to 0.75.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) rose 5.2%, Dana Gas (DANA) 2.4%, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 2.3%, and the remainder were up less than 2% or on turnover of less than AED 1m. There were 5 losers with only Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) trading more than AED 1m, down 0.38% to 2.60.
