62% Of Organizations In The UAE Adopt Innovative HR Policies
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been deemed the most conducive to innovative human resource (HR) policies, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). These results were disclosed by a recent HR survey conducted by IIR Middle East. The survey results stated that 60 percent of the interviewed organizations in the UAE, followed by 25 percent of surveyed companies in KSA adopt forward thinking HR policies. The survey further delved into the working culture of organizations across the Middle East.Open-door policy (100 percent of surveyed companies) followed by organizational culture (40 percent of surveyed companies) were the two most important elements for a healthy working atmosphere. In organizational culture, employee engagement and transparency were essential for employees to perform better. Validating this point, Chester Elton, Lea-dership and HR Guru and speaker at the seventh annual Middle East HR Summit said: “Employee engagement in this economy is driven first and foremost by employees believ-ing they have opportunities to grow and do important work. Recognition accelerates business performance when done right.”
The survey focused on ‘Emiratization’ and found that all surveyed companies are of the opinion that hiring local talent adds value and local perspective. “Companies are looking for local talent who have strong experience in the region and can therefore lead through tough times. This strategy ensures how companies can ‘future proof’ their businesses,” added Vicki Martin, HR Manager, Estee Lauder Companies - Middle East and India.
The seventh annual Middle East HR summit will discuss and debate pertinent issues and showcase successful case studies from the region, address regionally-specific employ-ment law issues as well as conduct post-event master-classes.
