Leader Of Canada’s Health IT Programme To Speak In Riyadh
Richard Alvarez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada’s National Health IT Program, Health Infoway, has been a catalyst for accelerating the development of electronic health records in Canada.Speaking at HIMSS Middle East 2011, which takes place at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, on 29-31 May 2011, he will share his successful strategies for driving forward cooperative progress amongst national, regional and local healthcare system stakeholders.
Alvarez, recognised for taking on challenging mandates and building successful organisations, has articulated a broad national vision for reforming Canada’s health care system through innovation and technology. Internationally, he has helped to position Canada as a world leader in health care renewal.

The three-day event is split into two separate streams which include the 2011 HIMSS Middle East Conference and Health IT Leadership Summit.
The Health IT Leadership Summit will bring health care IT leaders from around the world together with Middle Eastern experts to examine leading-edge health information technologies and effective IT management practices. Topics such as organisational governance, performance management and change management will be addressed.
The HIMSS Health IT Management Conference will focus on the practical challenges for management professionals in the integration of deployment of Healthcare IT (HIT). Topics will include wireless care delivery, and using standards to achieve real organisational interoperability.

The 2011 HIMSS Middle East Conference & Health IT Summit is open to all health care and IT professionals, and is expected to attract over 300 delegates from around the region.
