Companies continue to invest in training
Recent research from Make it Happen (MiH), the training arm of French business information group Naseba, demonstrates that despite the current economic climate businesses are still spending money on training their staff. The study was conducted among human resources and training professionals in May 2011, by the MiH research centre. It shows that 65% of companies who participated in the survey increased their investment in training when compared to the previous 12 months - on average by 26%.
This surge in spend has enabled training providers to expand the range of courses they provide. In less than two years, MiH has helped more than 900 professionals improve their skills and knowledge through more than 40 programmes held across the Middle East.
They now offer courses in public relations, marketing and human resources, as well as bespoke training for PAs and a five-day MBA programme.
MiH training series Managing Director, Fabien Faure explained, "Our training series continues to expand. The main objective is to become a trusted training provider for companies looking to achieve their corporate goals, and for individuals pursuing professional development. The MiH guiding principles are simple - it is all about the quality of the content, the trainer and the course format - with an emphasis on delivering against an organisation or person’s training needs."
One of the keys to the success of MiH is in attracting some of the best trainers in the industry. The format of their courses is also highly practical and case study oriented, ensuring delegates do not just learn about theory.
The training specialists now work with some of the largest and well-known companies in the Middle East, including: Qatar National Bank, SAGIA, Honeywell, Etihad Atheeb Telecom and KPMG.
When asked about attending a recent five-day MBA programme, Group CFO of Abdulla and Hamad Al Ghurair Investment, Shafeek Muhammed said, "The course was well worth the time and effort. It was the best course I’ve ever attended, with a fantastic trainer and brilliant course materials and topics. I enjoyed the week."
