Careers UAE: Widening The Career Path For Emiratis At All Levels

With an Emiratisation strategy now in place in almost every business sector in the UAE, and a fast growing, educated and ambitious Emirati demographic looking to climb the career ladder, the need for an effective platform to bring talent and opportunities together at a single event has never been greater.

As the most established recruitment, training and education event in the UAE, Careers UAE 2012 provides an unrivalled environment for UAE nationals and the country’s top employers to come together to explore mutual opportunities at all levels and in all sectors. Taking place from 5 -7 March 2012 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, the show is held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

“Emiratisation is a programme that is now well established in business industries throughout the UAE, and with the strong and stable economic growth of the country set to continue, career prospects for UAE nationals have never been greater,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of Careers UAE. “With a track record that spans 12 years, Careers UAE plays a significant role in human resource matchmaking for the UAE.”

More than 100 exhibitors from various business sectors will be represented at this year’s show including: government and semi-government; finance; education and recruitment; trade and commerce; IT; hospitality; oil and gas; transportation; telecoms; training and HR.

The highly popular Lunch with Leaders event that debuted last year, returns to Careers UAE 2012 with a new expanded format that includes two lunches – one for university students and one for young career professionals. Both events will be hosted by high profile leaders of companies operating in the UAE who will offer lucky candidates insights and advice on their chosen career paths. Application forms to attend the lunches, for young career professionals are posted on the Careers UAE 2012 website www.careersuae.ae.

This year also sees the launch of Career Builder, an invaluable work placement programme that will offer candidates an opportunity to work in some of the region’s top companies for a few months internship. Final year university students and graduates will be eligible for the programme, with successful candidates chosen through an interview process at the show.

Introduced for the first time to run alongside Careers UAE 2012 is the HR Leaders Forum for middle to senior management in personnel and regional HR leaders within all business sectors. This interactive forum will highlight best practice methodology of regional and global companies in attracting, retaining and developing talent, innovation, leadership and new strategies as well as provide valuable insights into improving people management capabilities.

Supporting the Government’s call for “Putting People First” and recognising significant contributions within human capital management, this year also sees the launch of the HR Leaders Awards which will honour individuals and organisations in both the public and private sectors, in categories ranging from Best Nationalisation Initiative (public and private sector) to HR Team of the year.

Careers UAE 2012 continues to offer a dedicated platform to showcase professional bodies for a variety of business sectors, training courses for career development, networking forums for industry professionals and an e-learning area.

Running concurrently with Careers UAE 2012 is SMEInvest, DWTC’s newest show in it extensive portfolio, and focused on the growing SME sector driving the UAE’s economy. The show is organised in partnership with Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai..

Open exclusively for UAE Nationals and HR practitioners, Careers UAE 2011 will be held in Sheikh Saeed Halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The event will take place from 5 – 7 March 2012 and will be open from 10am to 6pm daily. For more information, please visit www.careersuae.ae.
