New research reveals that more than 70 per cent of business executives believe that continuous learning and development is key to career and business growth, according to Alan Harpham, Chairman, APMG-International, a global examination institute.
Harpham was citing recent research from UK’s Henley Business School. “Across our worldwide network, we see leaders who are searching for answers to sustaining growth as they tackle the challenges of the on-going economic variables that have fast become the norm.”
He said professional learning is a key ingredient to being ‘change-ready’, stressing that organisations and individuals have a joint responsibility for continuous systems enhancement and business-relevant education.
“For management teams to be in the best shape to navigate the varied market conditions, organisations must be ready to implement new methods and practices, and support professional education opportunities.
“At the same time, individuals must be ready to invest the time and effort to learn what’s new. This is why the time is right for Dubai to host its first Showcase Event for the Middle East region,” he said, suggesting that most organisations in the region are nimble and embrace change wholeheartedly.
Harpham noted APMG has also found it must be nimble to change as it looks for growth and confirmed the firm is making its regional debut by hosting its signature Showcase Middle East seminar in Dubai.
He said the MasterClass programme featuring seven leading providers of business training and consulting across Change, Project and Risk Management is being offered to senior management. Ivano Iannelli, CEO of Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence will present the keynote at the one-day event scheduled for September 9 at the British University in Dubai (BUiD).
The 200-plus delegates will be in the company of accredited training and consultancy organisations, including Firebrand, Maxpert, Scoll, IIL, ILX Group and Egybyte, and gain a better understanding of the products managed by APMG-International, including PRINCE2®, ITIL®, ISO/IEC20000 and P3M3®.
“We have found that the most effective learning is the result of shared conversation, interaction and active participation and this is how we run our Showcase days,” Harpham concluded.
