RECon Middle East & North Africa 2012
RECon Middle East & North Africa is the premiere networking and educational conference for the shopping centre industry in the Middle East and North Africa.With the theme Back to the Future, the conference is jointly organized by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). It is scheduled to take place on 11-13 November at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Featuring international and regional experts who will share experiences, analyze current trends and help attendees gain insights to assist them in reformulating business plans to ensure stability and growth, RECon Middle East & North Africa will take participants on a deep dive to what they need to know now, and in the future, to operate successful shopping centres.
Conference sessions and workshops will focus on many industry specific topics including social media and its use by shopping centres; leasing tactics, tools, and tips; negotiation strategies for shopping centre professionals; future trends in shopping centre design and construction; and asset management and how to increase net operating income (NOI).
In addition to the educational and networking opportunities, the conference will include the 2012Middle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. The Middle East is home to some of the largest and most advance enclosed malls and shopping centres in the world and in order to properly acknowledge the innovativeness of the centres in this region, ICSC and MECSC in 2011 launched theMiddle East and North Africa Shopping Centre Awards. In all, nine centres were recognized by ICSC and MECSC in three categories: Marketing, Design and Development, and Retail. The Middle Eastand North Africa Shopping Centre Awards are a prime opportunity for shopping centre owners, developers, management companies, architects, designers and retailers to showcase their efforts in design, development and operation of their centres and stores.
