Global Village awarded ISO certification in quality management for next three years

Global Village, the region’s cultural, shopping and entertainment family outdoor destination, has been recertified and awarded the ISO 9001:2008 by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance for the coming three consecutive years. The re-certification was awarded after a 3-day assessment of all GV related quality management systems involving the assessment and review of all of the required documentation in place with the policies, procedures, and records that were either written or being kept, maintained, and controlled as documented in the Quality Policy.

In alignment with Global Village standards, the ISO 9001:2008 requires an organization to have written policies that address document control, records control, non-conforming products, internal audits, corrective actions, and preventive actions.

Accordingly, the ISO 9001:2008 standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

"Successfully complying with the ISO standards in quality management, raises the bar of Global Village to international standards and prompts the management to lay down more strategies and growth plans in order to play a fundamental role in the arts, tourism and hospitality sectors," said Saeed Ali Bin Redha, Global Village CEO.

Additionally, before the kick-off of its 17th season 2012/ 2013 Global Village had successfully met the merits and achieved the recommendation for certification in compliance with international standards for health and safety standard OHSAS 18001 and environmental standard ISO 14001.

This accreditation will also push Global Village to the forefront in its quest to be the best theme park within the region and across. Global Village’s commitment to promote Environmental Awareness and ensuring Public Safety is the primary goal.

Besides obtaining all the necessary and mandatory approvals from local authorities, the proactive approach in terms of hazard identification and risk mitigation had been successfully implemented and relentlessly driven by a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Department to achieve optimum park safety operation according to international standards.

Bin Redha concluded by assuring the importance of implementing international standards in quality management, health and safety as well as the environment which will help achieve the expected growth and excellence in client servicing in addition to dealing more professionally with the concerned parts from the public sector as well as investors from the private sector.
