UAESwitch shows increase in transactions
Central Bank of the UAE announced that the statistics of the UAESWITCH for the 2nd half of 2012 have shown an increase in number and value of financial transactions, carried-out electronically through the UAESWITCH. The total number of financial transactions has increased to 40.130 million financial transactions in the said half, compared to 39.071 million transactions in the 1st half of 2012, i.e. an increase of 2.71%.Also, the total value of financial transactions increased to AED 45.397 billion in the 2nd half of 2012, compared to AED 45.533 billion in the 1st half of 2012, i.e. an increase of 4.28%.
As for the total number and value of financial transactions carried-out through connection of the UAESWITCH to the GCC Switches, the total number of such financial transactions increased to 2.11 million transactions in the 2nd half of 2012, compared to 2.09 million transactions in the 1st half of 2012, i.e. an increase of 0.95%.
The total value of the financial transactions, decreased to AED 2.839 billion in the 2nd half of 2012, compared to AED 1.841 billion in the 1st half of 2012, i.e. a decrease of 0.07%.
