Sharjah
Sharjah doesn’t have the glamour of Dubai (none of the UAE does) however, it has a rich culture of souqs and brilliant museums. The Old Town is essential on your list of things to do but do remember Sharjah is much more conservative than your other options. Decency laws are tight; no alcohol is available and please do cover up respectively.
Ajman
Not far from the small town of Sharjah is the even smaller town of Ajman. The smallest of all seven emirates, Ajman has since much development work in recent years. The perfect place to sit back and relax, enjoy the authentic and delicious cuisine along the white sands it is famed for.
Umm Al Quwain
If you’re after a small peaceful location for a day, look no further. Umm Al Quwain has shied away from most of the tourism that has (delightfully) swamped the likes of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The old town has limited hotels so make sure you book beforehand with a traditional historic background still seeping through the cracks to this day.
Saudi Arabia
Looking to stretch your legs even further? Flying from UAE to most locations in Saudi Arabia will take approximately 3 hours on your standard charter (possibly quicker and more convenient when going private.
