The concept of the Comic Con (or Comics Convention) started in the late sixties to early seventies and has become a worldwide phenomenon much like the content in originally contained. Just as spaceships, aliens and superheroes have become a part of mainstream entertainment and pop culture there are now similar events in almost every major city around world attracting hundreds of thousands of fans every year!
The event is not only an opportunity to fans to meet celebrities & artists, watch exclusive previews, purchase limited edition merchandise or take part in exciting competitions – it’s also a chance to connect and make friends with the thousands of other fans from across the region.
Here's a million and one things to do at this years MEFCC! Here's 19 not to miss!
1. Main Stage Madness at the outdoor arena which has grown by a third in size creating space for more games, more fun and more awesomeness.
2. Headline acts this year include band’s Nikotin and Boxtones set to rock the crowds in true Comic Con style.
3. The Outdoor arena now includes a Danger Zone where you can test your skills on the climbing wall and your bravery on the stunt man bag drop! Take the leap of faith just like Assasins Creed!
4. Games and competitions include, Nerf Wars, Cosplay Parade, Geeky Quiz and Geek Karaoke, giving fans a chance to win all kinds of cool pop culture prizes.
5. Cosplay 2015 has grown bigger along with our usual categories, Film, Anime, Comics and Games we have a new category… Marvel. Come dressed as your favourite Marvel characters for a chance to win big.
6. Other entertainment includes, amazing dance shows, insane parkour crew, magicians and sets from DJ Trina and DJ David Craig.
7. Food and beverage to keep our super hero fans fuelled include the likes of Pizza Express, Burger Fuel, Costa, Kiza Lounge and Maple Leaf.
8. Straight from the Batman Begins, The Tumbler Replica will be available for having a seat in the cockpit and a photo opportunity, or if you have a spare USD 1million dollar it could be yours to drive through Dubai.

Check out the Shop and Ship Comics 19 Village powered by Aramex to meet international creators like Marvel's Mahmud Asrar and Charles Soule; Top Cow Productions' President Matt Hawkins; Image Comics' artist Tula Lotay and Andy Suriano from IDW. Also find vintage comics plus custom and signed sketches!
10. Make sure you pick up the limited, MEFCC edition Samurai Jack comic - only available while stocks last!

12. The Gamezone is chock full of tech fun with tournaments and cash prizes, demos of some of the latest games, virtual reality with the Oculus Rift and tons more!
