Dubai Chamber donates 5000 boxes of books to My Family Reads initiative
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has supported the My Family Reads initiative with 5000 boxes of Arabic books for readers of different age groups. Launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, the initiative aims to promote the culture of reading among Emirati families and support the UAE’s commitment to spreading cultural awareness in 2016, officially designated late last year as the Year of Reading.
Some 200 of the donated boxes were given to the Chamber’s staff and their families.
President and CEO of Dubai Chamber Hamad Buamim stressed the importance of Arabic as an essential ingredient in the UAE's history, heritage and identity.
He said it is the duty of all to preserve Arabic as a pillar of our national identity and a source of pride.
