RAK City Guide
Ras Al Khaimah

Rakeen

Rakeen - an Arabic word that means 'central pillar' or 'trustworthy support' - commenced operations on 19th April 2006, in a royal decree by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, as the land master-planner and developer to be responsible for RAK's property development.
A significant number of ambitious developments are underway for Ras Al Khaimah - from man-made islands to offshore financial districts and from spa resorts to new urban developments - to facilitate the emirate's transition to an international commercial capital and cultural landmark.

Rakeen has a diversified international development portfolio and has been investing robustly in emerging markets around the region.

Rakeen is committed to designing and building structures which are sympathetic to their surroundings and which preserve or add to the natural habitat wherever possible.

Salient Projects

Al Marjan Island - Located 27km southwest of Ras Al Khaimah town centre, Al Marjan Island is the first man-made island project to be developed in the Emirate.

Bab Al Bahr - Bab Al Bahr brings alive a vision. The vision to create the ideal home that makes basking in the warmth of idyllic island living possible.

Banyan Tree Resort - The Banyan Tree Resort is being built to preserve nature and provide residents and tourists with a tranquil getaway destination close to the city.

Gateway City - The Gateway will herald a new era in the development of Ras Al Khaimah. This integrated commercial and residential project is over 400 million square feet in size.

RAK Convention Centre - Set directly on the natural land contours without any disturbance to the surroundings, the RAK Convention Centre features a mixed use design including hotel rooms, offices, retail space, convention facilities and exhibition halls.

Jabel Al Jais - A mountain resort nestled in the natural surroundings of Ras Al Khaimah.

RAK Financial City - As a modern, functional complex Skyscape is destined to become the new hub for the offshore financial operations of the regional business community.

Dana Island - A natural sea enclave extending 7 kms into azure blue waters, Dana Island will be developed to accommodate commercial and residential complexes along with hotels.
