The Dubai Courts is continuing the implementation of the "Goodness Courts Initiative," in cooperation with the Emirates Islamic bank and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. The initiative aims to ease the suffering of debtors who are unable to pay for their civil cases, which will bring them hope during the Year of Tolerance. The initiative was launched with the attendance of Abdulqader Musa, Acting Director-General of the Dubai Courts, and Abdulrahman Al Emadi, Chairman of the Goodness Courts Committee, along with the committee’s members.
Al Emadi said that cheques valued at AED3 million from the bank and 2 million from the department were distributed among 29 cases from six nationalities, due to the efforts of the Dubai Courts and the supporting authorities to give the debtors the opportunity to return to their normal lives with more open, careful and objective minds.
He added that the initiative aims to promote the concept of social responsibility, in partnership with the public and private sectors.
The initiative also aims to develop social solidarity and strengthen the cooperation between the entire community, through offering social aid and bridging the wealth gap between community members, by paying debts issued by the Dubai Courts, he said in conclusion.
