3 Things To Do To Relax When Traveling For Business In Dubai
Dubai is one of the best cities in the world for those who live a fast life. Businessmen and women from around the world flock to Dubai for a number of reasons, and once they're there they don’t stop working. It’s a hub of activity, especially when you're running from meeting to meeting, doing what your business needs of you. Which is why you need to find ways to relax when there. Some people love the ability to live at a fast pace, especially when they need to be productive. But you've got to relax, as well.
Relaxing when traveling for business is not always easy. You always feel as if you're supposed to be doing something else. But it’s as important to your productivity as anything else.
As such, here are 3 things to do to relax in Dubai when traveling for business.
1. Keep up with your series
Do you know what can be as stressful as any of the work you're doing? Missing out on the latest episode of a series which will be spoiled for you online. None of us want to be late in finding out all the nitty gritty of Jack’s death in This Is Us. We’d be loathe to miss the eliminations on reality TV shows we’re committed to.
It may not be so simple to keep up with series while in Dubai. Some shows are broadcast a week or two later, or not at all. Accessing the streaming services of cable providers or even Netflix’s catalogue from back home is restricted due to copyright law.
To get around this, you can use a VPN. Make sure you are using a dedicated UAE VPN. Some are banned by law – find those that are legal and known to be effective.
2. Exercise and eat well
I know, this is a weird entry in a list of how to relax. But to optimise your relaxation, you'll need to feel good about yourself. If you're sitting in front of the TV eating junk during all your off hours, you'll get down on yourself and just feel guilty about relaxing. You'll come out of it with less motivation to get stuff done and less energy.
Try to keep up a semblance of your exercise routine and any diet you're following. Not only will you feel better in general, but you won’t beat yourself up for relaxing when you do.
3. Meditate
Meditation is not easy, especially when you're incredibly busy. It’s tempting to just vegetate instead. However, if you meditate for just twenty minutes, you will feel far more relaxed. Your anxiety will decrease and you will feel physically better as well.
Not only does meditation help you relax, but it also helps be mindful of the new experiences. On business trips, you're unlikely to take in the scenery or local culture. Dubai has so much to offer, that this is really a pity. But if you are centred by mindful meditation, you will be able to focus on what’s going on around you, and actually benefit from being in such a fantastic city.
