The Dubai International Children’s Book Fair
The Dubai International Children’s Book Fair is central to the reading strategy of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. This annual event is an opportunity for the public and the industry key players, authors, illustrators, and publishers, to network and exchange experiences. The Fair features special events and activities including workshops, discussion forums, training sessions, and other events which help support children’s books publishing industry and lead to fostering new partnerships, thus achieving the targeted objective of disseminating and promoting reading amongst children in the Arab World. Mission To launch the first international children’s book fair in the Arab World. The Fair will serve as a platform upon which the Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation will tackle the children’s literature and reading in terms of facts, challenges, and solutions. Objectives -Position Dubai as an international hub for children ‘s literature. -Stir up the issue of children’s literature and reading in the Arab World. -Promote the passion for reading amongst the Arab children and the love of Arabic language. -Launch programs to support the children’s literature industry. -Offer networking for the Arab world and the international market through the International Rights Centre. -Publish and translate top children’s books from and into Arabic. -Educate participants about children’s literature and the sector’s trends.
