Enchanting Dubai - Top 3 Family Activities

Dubai has a massive expat population and this comes as no surprise because the economic attractiveness of the city has skyrocketed in the past few decades. There are immigrants coming from all over the world such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the U.S., and several countries from Europe. Around 90 percent of UAE’s workforce are immigrants.

Visiting Dubai or moving permanently is an easy decision to make especially for families as the city and its establishments are family-friendly. Not to mention that the city itself is so captivating, it attracts millions of tourists each year. PathwayVisas, a leading immigration services provider in Dubai, offers the following reasons why your family needs to visit Dubai and, perhaps, live permanently in this beautiful city.

Where to shop in Dubai

Who doesn't love shopping in Dubai? Shopping is an integral part of modern Emirati culture that everyone should experience. Dubai malls have it all — shop, dine, and have a perfect family day with the extensive range of activities you and your kids can enjoy. Here are the top shopping malls that are ideal for families.

1. Dubai Mall

The largest mall in the world if measured by its total land area, Dubai Mall has more than 160 restaurants and more than 1,200 shops. Inside, there is an underwater zoo, a skating rink and a dancing fountain. Enjoy a nice brew in one of the unique cafes while your kids watch movies, craft 3D creations, fly a plane, meet dinosaurs… you can even go diving with the sharks at the Dubai Aquarium. Meanwhile, restaurants such as Rainforest Cafe, Eataly and Al Forno offer good food and a fun, casual vibe. Plus, shop to your heart’s delight in the array of toy stores and kids’ clothing boutiques featuring the most popular brands in the world.

2. Mall of the Emirates

If you have children aged 3 and above, they will absolutely love the Mall of Emirates. They will be treated to an indoor snow resort, interact with penguins, and have more fun in the Magic Planet where they can play games. However, you need to buy tickets if you want to go inside Ski Land. The temperature inside is below zero but they provide warm clothing for guests. Or you can just watch behind the windows and while you are deciding whether to go inside or not. There is a huge toy store and more than 85 eateries inside this mall. You can get there by taking the metro (red line) and get off at the Mall of Emirates Station.

3. Wafi Mall

Children will be delighted with this Egyptian-inspired mall. Designed with Ancient Egypt in mind, Wafi Mall features a glass pyramid ceiling and intricate interiors that remind you of the region’s iconic pyramids. They showcase a show each night called “Return of the Pharaohs” at 9:30 in the evening at the central courtyard, facing the pyramids entrance. Catch this lights-and-sounds show only until the 23rd of May as they are taking a break for a few months and will resume in October. The best find in this mall is the souk where you can find great bargains.

Best Family Entertainment

The last thing you want to have are bored kids. Here are a list of places where they can immensely enjoy their Dubai visit.

1. Legoland

Who doesn't love going to Legoland? Educational and entertaining, Legoland activities tap children’s imagination by letting them create their favorite heroes, places and objects with hundreds of Lego pieces. There are also 40 Lego-themed rides, as well as several shows and attractions. Families with kids aged 2 and up are going to enjoy this place best. Legoland Dubai is open from 10am to 6pm. You can buy tickets online or at the site.

2.  Aquaventure Dubai

One of the most famous attractions in the city, Aquaventure is located on the Palm Jumeirah Island in the Atlantis, The Palm Hotel and Resort. This water park features slides, lagoons, rapids and water coasters. You and your kids will also experience the famous Ziggurat, a tall slide which leads you to a pool and into an underwater tuber. Small kids can play in the special pools. Aquaventure also features the Dolphin Bay, Aquaventure Beach, Lost Chamber and Splasher’s Play area. Your kids are going to love it.

Outdoor and Indoor Recreational Activities for Kids
1. Badminton at Dubai City Sports

No matter where you are, encouraging your kids to participate in sports is always a good idea. Dubai Sports is the best place for you to bring your kids and play together as a family. Dubai City Sports has hosted several major sports tournament such as the DUBAi Open Asian Tour. It is located on Mohammad Bin Zayed Road and is surrounded by sports academies and retail shops.

2. Zoo Skatepark

The Zoo Skatepark is located at Warehouse no. 1, Al Manara Street & 8th Street. Children aged 4 and up are allowed to skate until the evening inside an air conditioned facility at AED30 per hour.

Low-Stress Family Travel?

Traveling is such a fun way of spending time with your family. It can be stressful, too, so proper planning is important. Book your flights and accommodations early. Do your research to develop an itinerary that suits your group, or get help from your friendly travel service professionals. Most importantly, make sure all necessary documentation and visa requirements are complete for each person. Consult a reputable immigration expert if you are planning on going on a holiday or permanently moving to your dream destination.
