Ministry Of Human Resources And Emiratisation Announces Details For Employing Domestic Workers

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced the provision of a variety of packages for employing various types of domestic workers through the Tadbeer service centres, which are expected to start services in the fourth quarter of this year."Domestic Worker bundles have entered a preoperational phase as Tadbeer Customer Service Centre will start operation in the fourth quarter of 2017," according to the ministry.

Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said, "Customers select preferred domestic workers from a list of 19 different categories. Tadbeer centres shall act as a mediator and offer the highest level of contracting transparency."

Ghobash made the announcement during a meeting, held at the ministry in Dubai with Tadbeer centre investors, who received initial approval to operate 40 centres across the country. The meeting was attended by Saif Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of Human Resources, Humaid bin Deemas, Assistant Under-Secretary of Labour Affairs, Aysha Belharfia, Assistant Under-Secretary of Domestic Workers Affairs.

Operating under a public-private partnership plan, the ministry assures the new-line of centres complete support, bringing functionality and service levels to match the preceding successor, Tasheel centres, fulfilling, therefore, the UAE Government Excellence Programme.

The Minister pointed out that the ministry is currently working with oversea counterparts to reach agreements concerning recruitment processes. "The ministry has gone a long way in developing initiatives and policies that will have a positive impact within the proposed bundle," he added.

Tadbeer Centres will help guarantee the provision of high-quality visa, include conducting pre-arrival interviews with domestic workers to ensure they understand their contractual rights, the provision of training and education to new workers, resolving disputes between workers and employees, and checking on worker housing and accommodation.
