The Dubai Health Authority & the Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government sign MoU to provide leadership-training program to 400 DHA employees

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) signed an MoU on Sunday to  provide leadership training to 400 of its top management leaders as part of the ‘Health Pioneers’ program. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the DHA and Dr Ali Al Marri, MBRSG’s Executive President.

Following the signing of the MoU, Al Qutami said the establishment of such a partnership with MBRSG represents an important opportunity for the DHA’s senior and top management to enhance their abilities and expertise to fulfill the authority’s strategy.

He added that MBRSG represents one of the most unique scientific and educational monuments of its kind in the region, which has been able to reflect the UAE's successful experiences in the region and to present Dubai's unique experience in innovation.

This is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who is dedicated to spreading the culture of excellence and spreading leadership principles and concepts across different sectors. Producing applied research, disseminating best practices and empowering leaders and policy makers to lead economic and social development is the essence of MBRSG’s mission, Al Qutami added.

Al Qutami said the authority is undergoing an important transformation that requires investment in human capital, benefiting from others experiences and promoting teamwork. He added that for this reason supporting DHA officials and leaders is important in the coming phases.

He concluded by stating that enrolling the authority’s top management employees in the academic and practical programs of MBRSG is in line with the developmental health strategy of Dubai 2016/2021. The strategy requires identifying responsibilities and evaluation methods as well as linking the performance of the task forces with the objectives of the strategy, while providing opportunities for exchange of experiences and knowledge.

Dr Ali Al Marri, MBRSG’s Executive President said during the conference that the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is dedicated to supporting good governance and promoting best practices in the UAE.

“We are honoured to be contributing to the Dubai Health Authority’s plans to revolutionise its services. We strive to empower future-ready leaders to take charge and propel government departments in the Emirates to the fore of advancements and developments.”

“The Dubai Health Authority is working to transform the emirate into a prime global destination for health services, which resonates with our mission to train our government-sector workforce to cement the UAE’s position at the top of international charts across all sectors,” Dr Al Marri added.

Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources at DHA said the program will focus on six core categories that include an academic program, which aims to provide DHA top management with the skills to overcome challenges and connect theories with practical practices using state-of-the-art methods and mechanisms.

MBRSG will also offer specialized training that aims to enhance the skills and abilities of DHA top management through workshops and application programs.

Research and studies, is another category that aims to see cooperation between DHA and MBRSG to publish studies and documents on best practices in different topics.

The DHA-MBRSG collaboration will also see partnership in launching events that include workshops and conferences to exchange experiences and suggestions.

She said the MOU also aims to open collaboration channels in the field of management consulting and scientific trips to learn about the best government practices that aim to emphasis the capabilities.

Professor Raed Awamleh, Dean of MBRSG, pointed out that the programmes at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government are founded on scientific principles and adapted to the realities of public administration in the country and region.

“We develop courses to help future leaders meet the challenges facing public administration, and this particular programme is aimed at the Dubai Health Authority’s top-level managers. The 11-month DHA Senior Leaders Program is tailored to immerse participants in advanced strategy training and decision-making scenarios to help hone their skills and deepen their insight.”
