For the 16th successive year, Dubai mounted a successful presence in the Top Resa exhibition held in the French city of Deauville recently.
The Dubai Stand, a 50-square-metre reproduction of Bastakiya design, attracted eight co-participants comprising of hotels, hotel apartments and tour operators.
The DTCM Executive Overseas Promotions, Mr. Omar Al Qurashi, represented the department at the largest tourism fair for the French travel and tourism industry professionals.
Among the VIPs at the Dubai stand were Mr. Saif Sultan Al Aryani, UAE Ambassador to France and Mr. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ghafli, Plenipotentiary Minister. The DTCM France Director, Mr. Pascal Maigniez, joined Mr. Al Qurashi in welcoming them.
They were very impressed by the quality of the France’s leading travel travel exhibition and the wonderful design of Dubai Stand.
During the exhibition, five new French tour operators confirmed their projects to feature Dubai in their 2005-2006 winter season itienaries.
More than 600 travel agents participated for the draws for three prizes.
The department has been aggressively promoting and marketing Dubai in France, one of the fast growing source markets for the emriate’s rapidly-developing tourism industry.
French nationals are considered among the highest spending travelers in Europe, along with the Germans and Britishers.
There has been a significant year-on-year growth in the number of tourists making their way to the perfect and safest round-the-year destination in the region for business and leisure. |
