Under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Cuadro Museum and Art Gallery in Dubai exhibited the artworks of eight international artists.

The unique collection of works went on display at the gallery located at the DIFC Gate Village in the Dubai International Financial Centre. It will remain open to visitors until May 21.

The “For Them” art exhibition has been brought to Dubai and the region by Cuadro Fine Art Gallery, in association with France-based La Compagnie Des Artistes Associes.

The artworks have been carefully selected to represent a veritable feast of diverse concepts to dazzle and excite art enthusiasts.

“For Them” will introduce 40 new paintings and sculptures by artists who include names such as Arnaud Busquet, Benedetta Segala, Feng Ge, Lara Mezzapelle, Michelangelo Modica, Francoise Semiramoth, Muriel Napoli and Tania Angelova. All the eight artists were specially invited to present and discuss their works to the guests during the opening of the show.

Part of the sale proceeds of the artworks during its showing in Dubai will be donated to the Dubai Autism Center.

Abdulla Hamad Bin Sugat, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Lifestyle Group, welcomed the hosting of the artworks of the high-calibre artists.

“Art, and especially art of such high calibre, is a pleasure to experience. The fact that the artists themselves were at hand to discuss their works was an added bonus as was the fact that the works can be acquired by collectors and enthusiasts from our region. Not only will the hosting of ‘For Them’ add to the quality of life at the DIFC District, Dubai and the region in general, it will also bring cheer to people who suffer from autism as part of the sales proceeds will be donated to the Dubai Autism Centre,” Bin Sugat added.

Bashar Al Shroogi, Owner of Cuadro said: “We believe that the arts play a vital role in bridging cultures and developing understanding. We are proud to be hosting this show and working with these fine artists. “For Them” is collaboration with La Compagnie des Artistes Associes and will be a two-way cultural exchange. This first show in Dubai will be followed with an exhibition of Middle Eastern artists in France in 2010.”

Cuadro Fine Art Gallery occupies a space of 1,300 square meters separated into 9 distinct exhibition halls at the DIFC’s Gate Village. The gallery is a platform for international contemporary art in Dubai.

La Compagnie Des Artistes Asscies is a French-based non-profit organization focusing on the promotion, sale, rent and leasing of contemporary art. Its mission is to create ties between young and established artists and act as a liaison between artists and schools, NGO’s, corporations and galleries.
