Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the deluxe hotel apartments which offer world class services and facilities in the heart of Dubai, has launched the “Green Planting / Gardening Campaign” which is part of its ongoing Responsible Awareness Programme (RAP) last 27th June 2009.

The highly patronized event was attended by the property’s staff and members of management who participated in the event by planting a sapling on the open terraces of the property’s block 5 and 6. The move reflects the property’s commitment to keep the UAE environment healthy and clean and support Dubai Government’s initiative of a ‘green city’.

Moussa El Hayek, CEO of Al Bustan Centre & Residence, said: "The campaign was very successful as we roped in our staff and management as well in the planting activity and made them aware of the green issues. The property has already initiated a number of environmentally friendly programmes such as the Clean-Up Drive and other water and energy conservation plans. Through such campaigns we wish to reiterate the message of recycling and conservation of the city’s resources.”

He added the campaign is also aimed at creating more awareness among public and appreciate the need for trees in the environment. “By planting more trees, we wish to create a holistic green environment in the city but mobilizing people is essential. Such drives will promote the restoration of the natural ecology of the country through forestation and help reduce the effects of global warming, thus moving towards creating an environmentally friendly society where people harmoniously co-exist with nature.”

Moussa hoped that the campaign will expand throughout the country and encourage more and more people to be involved in tree planting activities in their communities to preserve nature and nurture precious forests for future generations.
