The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Head Office has announced a variety of cultural and entertainment events it will be conducting during the Eid Al Adha and 38th UAE National Day celebrations.
Ms. Arwa Al Ghammai, General Coordinator for the UAE National Day Celebrations Committee at DTCM, said among the programmes to be held at the Heritage and Diving Village in Al Shindagha from November 27 to 29 are Eid Hospitality, Heritage competition, performance by traditional music bands and Dubai Police Music Band, traditional handicrafts display, Emirati mock wedding ceremonies, traditional food, Camel Riding, henna designing, traditional souq, face painting and Khosa Bosa characters.
There will be Eideya for children from November 27 to 29 at 8 pm daily.
Mr. Nasser Juma, Head of Cultural and Heritage Events at DTCM, said DTCM’s celebrations of UAE National Day will kick off in The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) on December 2 at 6 pm with the Federation Cake cutting ceremony to be conducted jointly with the Jumeirah Group.
There will be Heritage Village celebrations from December 2 to 4 at the same venue from 5 pm onwards. On December 3, Dubai hotels will prepare traditional Emirati cuisines for the public from 5 pm. On the same day, there will be Celebration for Chefs at 8 pm. Ask Ali, a cultural heritage programme will be conducted on December 4 from 5 pm to 10 pm.
From December 2 to 4, there will be traditional games, folklore band performances, traditional dress competition, and display of models of traditional Emirati houses, handicraft shows, Islamic corner, traditional wedding ceremonies, and Al Youla shows. All these events will take place at The Walk from 5 pm to 10 pm.
In a message, the DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, extended his best wishes to the nationals and residents of the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Adha and National Day. He expressed the public will enjoy the variety of programmes to be conducted by DTCM in association with other organizations.
The line-up of events for the UAE National Day celebrations is in line with the festivities planned to be conducted under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
