A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to this effect was signed today by representatives of both organizations.

The program and operation of the trading house were launched by Hon. Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia, in the presence of Mr. E.V Narayan, Managing Director, Diamond International Consolidators LLC, representatives of other agencies of the Government of Malaysia, Bumiputra Manufacturers & Services Industry Association of Malaysia.

Diamond International Consolidators LLC is a partner of Diamond Consolidators (M) Sdn Bhd who specialize in the import and distribution of Malaysian products into the UAE and Gulf countries. It will conduct its trading business – with a focus on the FMCG industry – from the centrally located Jebel Ali Free Zone and will use an extensive networking system to help give a strong competitive edge to its clients.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr E.V Narayan said, “Diamond International Consolidators has been set up to channelize and capitalize on the strong commercial ties which currently exist between the UAE & Malaysia. Through our trading operations, we aim at providing a dedicated and professional distribution channel to the many manufacturers and exporters in Malaysia who wish to expand their brand presence and visibility in this important region.”

Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Malaysia said, “The trading ties between Malaysia and the UAE have existed for several years. The value of bilateral trade between the two countries is currently approximately $6 billion (Dh22 billion), and there is strong potential for enhancing this figure. The launch of Taste of Malaysia Program and Malaysia Trading House will provide an impetus for this trade and will facilitate the exposure of some of our most popular brands to UAE and Gulf markets”.

The company will offer Malaysian exporters several important facilities such as a warehouse of about 25,000 sq feet with offices, and show rooms in prime locations. Future areas of concentration include furniture, telecommunication equipment and related professional services.
