Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is highly important in enhancing the quality of life in the society. SUKAD, the UAE-based leading project management service provider, launched its own version of CSR in order to contribute to a better future in our communities.
SUKAD Social and Professional Initiatives, known as 2SPI, is established in order to offer the society a tangible and valuable community service and empower its members. Specializing in the emerging profession of project management, SUKAD strives to deliver its pioneering services to the UAE society as part of its initiatives.
Commenting on the reason of choosing the name of 2SPI instead of CSR, Mr. Mounir Ajam, SUKAD CEO, said “We launched SUKAD Social and Professional Initiatives because we believe that the term ‘initiatives’ is more action-oriented than ‘responsibility’. Furthermore, being a service provider of an emerging profession, SUKAD assumes responsibility for its role in the growth of project management, hence the addition of the word ‘professional’ in the name.” Accordingly, SUKAD will be launching many initiatives under 2SPI, and the first one is to work with not-for-profit organizations that act positively toward the benefit of the community, where SUKAD will provide complimentary services to such organizations and foundations. One of these organizations is the Emirates Foundation Tawteen program.
The agreement with Tawteen is to train a team of professionals on the use of SUKAD internally developed methodology for managing projects. Tawteen is the second organization that SUKAD have such an agreement with and the first one is confidential.
“We are quite excited to be part of the community and to contribute to the growth of a knowledge-based economy in the UAE and across the region. These kinds of agreements are essential components of SUKAD’s core values and the 2SPI program.” Added Mr. Mounir.
The SUKAD 2SPI comes in line with SUKAD’s keen awareness of public service inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai that aims at establishing the knowledge based economy and his establishment of Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation.
SUKAD’s core competence is project management that is why it is natural to offer unique services out of its belief that this profession is a catalyst of change for social and professional growth in the community.
