(13 June 2010)
Wade Adams Awarded Contract for Construction of Phase II Infrastructure Works

Dubai Industrial City, the region’s leading manufacturing and logistics destination and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it has appointed industry leaders Wade Adams as contractors to finalize the second phase of infrastructure work. The project is expected to be completed in October 2011.

The scope of work includes the completion of all sewage, water and irrigation and remaining road works as well as the construction of telecommunication networks and DEWA electrical ducts to serve all facilities and active developments.

The scope of proposed works will also include all required testing and commissioning of utilities works.

The project will be managed by TAMDEEN, TECOM’s specialized project management entity.

Abdullah Belhoul, Managing Director of Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster, said: “We are proud to announce the commencement of the second phase of infrastructure works, which underscore our commitment to our business partners. It is also a reflection of the current momentum we have witnessed towards the construction of manufacturing facilities by our business partners.”

Badr Al Gargawi, CEO of TAMDEEN, said: “We are delighted to work with Dubai Industrial City and ensure the project is managed and delivered in compliance with the international industrial standards. We will be working closely with the contractor to guarantee the timely delivery of the project.”

Wade Adams Group, which has the latest technology and expertise to handle construction of the most demanding projects, is currently implementing several projects in the UAE, Qatar, Libya, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Located on Emirates Road near the new Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai Industrial City offers a strategic advantage due to its proximity to major highways and the Jebel Ali Port. Covering an area of 560 million square feet, it offers a dedicated manufacturing destination comprising six industrial clusters – food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts and machinery and mechanical equipment.
