DTCM has prepared an advertising platform for the Forum in Dubai Mall and Mirdif City Center as well. Mohammed Al Hashemi said that the Forum has gathered more than a million visitors over the past nine years. He added that DTCM launched the event in 2002 under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmad Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also noted that the organizing committee recently concluded meetings on the group’s tasks and the latest updates and details concerning this year’s edition of the Forum as well as its accompanying events, all of which will be held at its permanent site in the Al Twar area which has become a well-known landmark for the Forum’s visitors.

Al Hashemi mentioned that the finishing touches for the Forum’s e-marketing plan have been completed, and that the Main Committee of last year’s Forum has issued its report. He clarified that the theme for this year’s Forum, “Faith and Security”, was chosen from among 36 other recommended themes, and that the adoption of the “Convoy for Good” event was agreed on during the organizing committee’s previous meeting.

Al Hashemi also said that Dubai’s DTCM has been organizing this event every year since it was inaugurated in 2002, with the aim to meet the demands of its target audiences from various sectors of the society. The tent was visited by people of different nationalities, including families. The Ramadan Forum has certainly become one of Dubai’s most important annual events held during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Throughout the past nine years, the Forum has hosted more than 100 of the most renowned personalities, including Sheikhs and opinion makers in the Arab World. Al Hashemi pointed out that the objective of the Forum is to stimulate religious tourism and related activities. Through this pioneering initiative, DTCM has established a unique platform to interact with various segments of the society and to showcase the different offerings during the Holy month, subsequently helping enhance the reputation of Dubai as a unique destination for religious tourism and related activities.

He added that the theme of the Forum has varied throughout the years, which are all in line with the objectives of DTCM. The different themes over the years were “Sail with Us”, “O Seeker of Good, Proceed”, “Meadows of Heaven”, “Possessor of Musk”, “Spreading Islam”, “Ramadan Changed Me”, and last year’s theme “Gathering to Succeed”. This year’s theme is “Faith and Security”.

The Forum has evolved year after year and now includes a lot of events such as Ladies and Family Corner, Convoy of Good, Mass Iftar for non-Arabic speaking Muslim communities, and programs addressing the communities in the Main Tent.

Al Hashemi also noted that the Forum has managed to draw more Muslims over the past years, accommodating over 60,000 visitors last year as well as more than 100,000 attending the mass Iftar.
