Louna And Friends Spread Dubai Shopping Festival Cheer Among Kids At Deira City Centre
(29 January 2013)

Popular and lovable Lebanese children’s character Louna is enthralling kids at the Deira City Centre during the 18th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), as part of the festival’s collection of events and activities aimed especially at children and families.

The show, which features the young girl Louna and her animal friends, is happening as part of the array of shows and activities that the mall is putting up during DSF 2013 and runs until the festival’s close on February 3.

The show has achieved great popularity in the region and is running every day at the mall at three different timings - 5pm, 8pm and 9pm. From January 21 to 26, the theme of the show was

“Louna in the world of seasons”, which presented the little girl’s reactions to and interactions with the various seasons of the year. Louna and her friends welcomed the seasons through their songs and dances and regaled kids at the venue with their acts and skits. From January 27 until February 1, Louna and friends will present their show under the title “Louna and BusyBee” in which Louna dances and plays with her bee friends and other animal characters. Both these shows will be taking place on a purpose-built stage in the mall’s central atrium.

For two days, on February 2nd and 3rd, Louna and her friends will tour the entire mall and perform in its various nooks and corners, also allowing children and families the chance to take pictures with the entire team of colourfully costumed, lovable, bright and cheerful characters. And it is not just the costume and the cute looks of the characters that are behind the success of this show. Unique stories, expertly and interestingly told with a fusion of Arabic folklore and fairytale elements combined with catchy, foot-tapping music and lyrics all add to its charm.

If the reception to the Louna show already seen so far is anything to go by, with a gaggle of smiling, enthusiastic kids thronging around the stage during all the performances, Louna and her friends seem to have captured the imagination of children visiting Deira City Centre during DSF
