Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honoured 26 distinguished employees as part of the Distinguished Employee and Best Team categories for the fourth quarter of 2012 as part of its efforts to recognise employees for their dedicated service.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, accompanied by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, EVP of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, honoured the distinguished employees at an awards ceremony held at DEWA Headquarters in the presence of EVPs, VPs, senior officials, and employees from DEWA.
Al Tayer praised the dedicated work of DEWA’s employees and emphasised that its management is committed to supporting their employees, and providing a competitive work environment. “We continually reinforce a culture of excellence amongst our staff to improve DEWA’s overall performance,” said Al Tayer.
“DEWA is keen to recognise distinguished employees and further strengthen their loyalty and sense of belonging. Through this ceremony, we aim to strengthen positive competitiveness among our employees and division,” said Dr. Al Akraf.
Al Tayer, attended by Al Akraf, honoured the winners in the Distinguished Employee and Best Team category. The team at SCADA Networks Department won the Special Act Award. The team was also announced as the winner of the Gold category of ‘Best Practice for Managing Improvement and Innovation’ at the fourth ‘Continual Improvement Symposium.’ The team members are Laila Abdul Malik, Fouad Abu Chaqra, and Raed Ahmed Qaimari.
Al Tayer honoured Amal Al Suwaidi, VP of Customer Relations, for her outstanding achievement in obtaining the ‘Woman Leader in Customer Service Excellence Award’ certificate from the ‘Middle East Excellence Awards Institute’.
The MD & CEO of DEWA also honoured the Best Cable Jointers for Q4 2012, from Projects Execution Department and Distribution Power Division. They included: Kaitan Basil Pinto, Pervez Ghani Sher, Mohammed Arshad Ashraf, and V R Abdul Subhan Basha. Al Tayer honoured Chinnadurai K. Kandhasamy, Sivakumar Palanisamy, Aftab Ali, and Tirupathi Mamidi for winning the Best Cable Jointers of the Year 2012 category.
Al Tayer presented an award to the Generation Division, Transmission Power Division, and Information Technology Division, for winning the divisional category of ‘Knowledge Management Recognition Programme’ (Share.K), and honoured the individual winners for the same category: Muhannad Rizik Ashaar, Islam Fakhri Abuhamdah, Joseph Mangalathu, Dr. Heena Bulchandani, Badusha Mohideen, and Elfatih Elhag Eltom.
The award ceremony concluded by honouring the winners of the Employee Satisfaction Survey: Fares Mohamed Abd El Rahman, Mayub Zada Sher Zada, and Haja Mohideen Abdul Hameed won in the ‘Offline’ category, Sheethal Smitha Pinto, Saleem Mohammed, and Sambashiva Rao Gannamani won in the ‘Online’ category, Maysaa Al Kilani, and Salama Khalifa Al Mehairi won in the ‘Coordinator’ category.
