Emirates Post Group Organizes Blood Donation Campaign At Head Office

Emirates Post Group organized a blood donation campaign at its head office in collaboration with the Blood Bank, Ministry of Health. Among the donors were Mr. Ibrahim bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer,Mr. Abdullah Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post and Mr. Sultan Al Midfa, CEO of Empost and Operations Network, along with staff members and post office customers.

The campaign was part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Emirates Post Group. Emirates Post Group strong supports such campaigns asthey contribute to saving lives of thousands of patients who need blood transfusion, especially those suffering from thalassemia or incurable diseases, as well as patients involved in accidents.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary at Ministry of Health,Medical Practices and Licenses, said that the aim of such campaigns was not only to collect blood but also to spread awareness of the benefits and value of blood donation for the society in general and patients in particular.

He explained various components of blood and its derivatives, which are collected and subjected to 13 tests to detect transmissible diseases and then distributed tohospitals.There is good public response for blood donation campaigns conducted through the Mobile Blood Bank in coordination with the institutions and various companies.
He also revealed that UAE nationals hold No. 1 position among the 93 nationalities who regularly take part in blood donation drives across the country.

Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam commented, "The blood donation campaigns are in line with the UAE’s strategy toward community service. At Emirates Post Group, we give great importance to blood donation campaigns as they help the community and save many lives. "

He added that the campaign attracted participation from a large number of employees and customers due to the efforts of the Department of Mass Communication.
