Emirates Post Hosts School Children’s Visits To Postal Facilities

Emirates Post Group welcomed groups of primary section students from two schools during January and February 2014 to view postal operations in Ramool Sorting Centre and Central Post Office in Karama, as continuation of its CSR activities.

School children from Dubai French School visited Ramool Sorting Centre in five batches on different days during January, accompanies by their teachers. Each batch consisted of 25 students and four teachers. They were taken on a tour of the premises and introduced to the sorting operations and back-office postal services.

On 2nd February, 44 primary section students from Rashid School for Boys, accompanied by six teachers, visited the 2nd Postal Zone at the Dubai Central Post Office in Karama and were introduced to postal operations.
The separate visiting groups were welcomed by Abdulla Kalandar, Director of Exchange Centre, Ramool Sorting Centre, and by Ali Abdulrahman, Acting Director of 2nd Postal Zone at the Dubai Central Post Office in Karama.

Mr. Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of the Group, said Emirates Post was proud to welcome school students and teachers as part of educational tours. “These tours help the students view at first hand the postal operations andthe automated sorting systems. Our relationship withthe schoolsstems fromcorporate social responsibility. We would like to encourage school students tobenefit from this facility.”

Emirates Post Group runs a year-round program in which students from public and private schools are invited toview postal operations and mail sorting system. The visits are conducted at Ramool Sorting Centre, Dubai Central Post Office, as well as main offices in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.

Apart from welcoming students to post offices and sorting centres, Emirates Post teams also visit schools across the UAE to hold exhibitions of UAE stamps and explain to the students the popular hobby of collecting stamps.
