Leading Retail Groups In Dubai Roll Out Themed Citywide Promotions In Celebration Of Dubai Shopping Festival’s 20th Anniversary

Given the high volume of visitors the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) attracts each year, the month-long shopping extravaganza serves as an attractive incentive for retailers to roll out special sales and promotions during this much-awaited shopping season. And with DSF celebrating its milestone 20th anniversary this year, the city’s leading retail groups have come out with themed and even bigger promotions and retail activation events, as part of the mega edition’s diverse retail offerings.

Dubai Shopping Festival is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and will run until 1 February 2015, under the special theme, “20th Anniversary – A Journey of Celebrations.”

Local, regional and international visitors can look forward to participating in and benefitting from various themed promotions such as discounts of 20% or more, prizes valued at AED 20,000 and the chance to be one of the 20 shoppers to enjoy exclusive benefits offered by seven leading retail groups including the Landmark Group, M. H. Alshaya Co., Al Tayer Group, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Apparel, the Rivoli Group and Azadea.

Commenting on the multiple promotional events themed around the number 20, Saeed Mohammed Mesam Al Falasi, Director, Strategic Alliances Division, DFRE, said: “We are delighted to see that the region’s leading retail groups are actively engaging the shoppers through promotions that are creatively themed around the 20th anniversary of Dubai Shopping Festival. It is a great initiative – one that falls in line with DFRE’s continuous commitment to offer innovative concepts to visitors from around the world while they enjoy the world-class shopping experience that Dubai is already quite well known for.”

“As you would expect, the 20th Anniversary theme is key to our promotional approach this year and this initiative by the top retail groups is truly commendable as it takes DSF’s “Journey of Celebrations” to all the prominent retail shops and outlets in Dubai – ensuring that every shopper can be part of the mega festivities,” he added.

Some of the main highlights of DSF’s 20th Anniversary – themed promotions by retail groups include the launch of 20th anniversary limited edition Rado watches by Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan at The Dubai Mall, alongside a special Rado exhibition that runs until 12 January. Further, M.H. Alshaya Co. is hosting the Arab TV celebrity George Kordahi who will be at a meet and greet session at Debenhams Cosmetics from 15 – 19 January. The M.H. Alshaya Co. is also organizing a MAC makeover experience at The Dubai Mall from 8 – 12 January.
