Dubai Shopping Festival – Carrying Dubai To The World And Bringing The World To Dubai For 20 Years

As the 20th anniversary edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival concluded its “Journey of Celebrations” on 1 February, it is clear that the region’s most popular and visited festival remains a central pillar in promoting Dubai around the world.

Festival organisers Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) its partners and the wider retail environment are acutely aware of the pivotal role the event has played in taking Dubai’s extraordinary story and 43-year-old journey to every corner of the globe.

It is a unique annual journey that is actively and enthusiastically celebrated, and this year’s 32-day “Journey of Celebrations” was no exception when it once again welcomed the world and continued to build through innovation and partnership and thrive as the longest running festival of its kind.

For millions of visitors from around the world it was attending and participating in the Dubai Shopping Festival that opened their eyes to the welcome that Dubai has to offer. Already DSF has attracted a staggering 56 million visitors spending a total of AED 145 billion during its first 19 editions.

Her Excellency Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, said: “The theme of Dubai Shopping Festival 20th Anniversary, ‘A Journey of Celebration’ – is a true reflection of how DSF has been an integral part of the amazing strides the Emirate has taken to become known around the world.

“Today there can be few people around the world who have not heard of Dubai – demonstrating the power that the brand has generated on the global stage. At DFRE we are enormously proud of the way that DSF has become recognised as a vital pillar of that branding success alongside other organisations like Emirates airline, our iconic hotels and buildings such as Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, state of the art shopping malls and fantastic transport infrastructure.”
