The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has briefed a delegation from the Ministry of Communication, Algeria, about the procedures of commercial investment of adverts applicable by the Rail Agency to the Dubai Metro, Tram. The visit is part of the joint cooperation between the UAE and Algeria and the exchange of expertise with the aim of achieving service improvements.

“RTA always endeavors to communicate with rail experts within the UAE or far afield to share with them experience & knowledge in all matters related to the railway industry,” said Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Rail Agency, RTA. “The Dubai Metro, Tram systems are among the leading projects commanding the attention of different visiting delegations who expressed interest in reviewing the practices adopted, especially in the field of commercial advertising & investments. Metro locations are evolving into key platforms for displaying effective advertising models, and advertisers are availed the opportunity to select specific spots for running various advertising campaigns,” he explained.

During the meeting, a visual presentation was made giving a brief about the Dubai Rail Network, analysis of adverts in the Emirate, and key advertising projects undertaken by the Rail Agency since the start of the Metro operation on 09/09/2009 and the Tram operation on 11/11/2014. The presentation also highlighted adverts inside and outside the Dubai Metro & Tram, spotlighting the process of tendering to all advertising agencies, setting the time zone for agreements made with advertisers which normally ranges from 5 to 10 years, and outlining the role of the Dubai Metro, Tram in augmenting the marketability of products & services of the private sector.

Members of the Algerian delegation were then escorted in a tour aboard the Dubai Metro, Tram where they commended the safety, security, and luxury of these transit modes, offering an enjoyable mobility within the Emirate of Dubai. They also praised the role played by these two mass transit modes in showcasing the tourist landmarks defining the upswing of Dubai, thanks to the routes passing through an array of prominent commercial, residential and tourist areas. Visitors were impressed by the fascinating designs of stations, which are fitted with top-notch systems at world-class standards for the convenience of public transport riders.
