DAMAC Properties Partners With Dubai Land Department To Host Urban Thinkers Campus
(7 January 2016)

DAMAC Properties has announced a strategic partnership with Dubai Real Estate Institute, DREI, the knowledge arm of the Dubai Land Department, DLD, for its Urban Thinkers Campus, one of 28 campuses worldwide, to be held at Meydan Hotel on 10th and 11th of January, 2016.

The event is being organised by DREI and the International Real Estate Federation, FIABCI, and will gather more than 150 specialists from various fields to discuss urban solutions for the world's new urban strategy 2036 and the best practices of prominent cities in the world, which have applied UN international standards of sustainability, smart cities, economic vibrancy and inclusiveness.

Danielle Grossenbacher, President of FIABCI, said, "We are so honoured to partner with DREI to run this event in the city of Dubai which is an example of a great city that resembles all standards of sustainably, economic vibrancy and resilience. The hosting of this event in Dubai is important to the whole region as its final publication will be integrated in the UN New Urban Agenda 2036."

Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, DAMAC Properties, stressed the importance and relevance of the event, saying, "The Urban Thinkers Campus, Dubai, provides an important forum to share and debate the best practices on The City We Need, particularly as Dubai has become a role model in many areas, especially organisational and community development."

"This summit is the second partnership between DAMAC properties and DLD, after the success of the Dubai Sustainable Cities Summit last December and the interest to the real estate sector and the environment," he added. "As one of the leading developers in the region, we are pleased to cooperate with DLD for the benefit of the real estate community in Dubai."

The Urban Thinkers Campus is an initiative of UN-Habitat conceived as an open space for critical exchange between urban actors who believe that urbanisation is an opportunity and can lead to positive urban transformations.

Government departments, industry experts, businesses, technology specialists, consultants and educators can request an invitation by completing the form on the Delegates section of the event's website.
