(4 August 2016)

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has briefed a delegation from Dubai Police on the best practices adopted by the RTA in the procurement, comparison, replacement, fuel consumption and the most common faults of fleet vehicles.

Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), welcomed the visiting Police delegation comprising Colonel Nabeel Abdullah Abdul Rida, Director of Force Vehicles; and Colonel Yousef Al Shaibani, Director of Mechanical Workshops. From the DTC also attended Ammar Al Buraiki, Acting Director of Fleet Operations; Abdullah Al Meer, Director of Business Development and Mohammed Abdul Kareem Al Hammadi, Director of Resources and Support in addition to a host of concerned staffs from both parties. “Welcoming the delegation of Dubai Police is part of RTA efforts to share expertise & knowledge in various fields with the concerned bodies in all government departments. Such visits offer a chance to carry out benchmarks and acquaint with the best vehicle maintenance practices of the DTC,” said Al Ali.

“The delegation was briefed on DTC’s practices in the procurement of vehicles, comparison between different auto dealers, procedures of vehicle replacement & issue of fuels, and the most common faults. The delegation was then escorted in a tour to DTC Workshop overseen by Fleet Maintenance & Services Section to have a practical look at the maintenance of vehicles, maintenance contracts and the performance of technicians,” he added.

Al Ali expressed his delight with the sharing of expertise with public entities as it contributes to the betterment of the administrative, cognitive, and cultural performance of public entities. “The exchange of knowledge & experiences between various local & federal entities is part of our social responsibility to disseminate the culture of excellence and successful practices. It also stems from the importance we attach to benchmarking in enriching the experience & performance of each entity,” he concluded.
