Dubai Land Department Hosts ’Ejari’ Smart Application Workshop
(6 August 2017)

Dubai Land Department (DLD) has hosted a workshop focusing on the 'Ejari' smart application and its latest updates. To ensure the success of the project, DLD sent exclusive invitations to a list of target employees from the rental sector and Emirates Real Estate Solutions (ERES) team, as well as representatives of rental and real estate management companies.

During the workshop, the supervisors briefed the participants on the improvements that have been made to the 'Ejari' application, including a number of newly launched services. The workshop was attended by professionals working in the real estate leasing and management sector, who were keen to present their ideas and suggestions, express their expectations of the 'Ejari' application services, and contribute to the development of initiatives to further develop the application.

Mohamed Ahmed Yahya, Deputy Executive Director of the Rental Affairs Sector, commented: "The 'Ejari' smart application is an important tool for all parties to rental lease contracts, as it allows them to benefit from increased flexibility, mobility, simplicity and efficiency when managing their business. We were very pleased with the enthusiastic participation of the workshop attendees, as this will help us to spread knowledge and awareness among the public about the benefits and importance of this application."

The 'Ejari' smart rental application allows real estate companies and landlords to manage their properties through easy steps, and provides greater flexibility across a variety of rental processes including issuing new rents and contract renewals. The application also protects the rights of all parties, contributes to reducing the time and cost associated with registering leases, and provides users with access to vital rental information.

The application is integrated with several government entities including the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) to validate consumer property numbers; Emirates Identity Authority to verify customer data using ID cards or passport data; Dubai Economy to provide license data; Dubai Municipality to obtain details of property locations; and Dubai Smart Government to measure customer satisfaction based on the happiness index.

Launched collaboratively by DLD and the Rental Disputes Center (RDC), improvements to the application include the addition of a service that allows users to open law suits with RDC, as well as a link to the payment gateway that provides users with several payment options including credit card, e-payment and express payment.
