La Mer celebrates Dubai Fitness Challenge 2018
(20 October 2018)

La Mer, the world-class beachfront destination by Meraas, is set to celebrate this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge with a month-long schedule of fitness activities for adults and children alike. The destination will also hold a series of events including skateboarding, open swim competitions and Hip-Hop Cardio.

From 26 October to 24 November, La Mer will transform into a fitness hub inviting visitors to participate in free daily group workout sessions including yoga, Zumba, BODYCOMBAT, BODYPUMP and TRX. The packed calendar will comprise over 100 sessions led by professional fitness instructors.

The destination will also dedicate areas for children’s sports, including beach football, volleyball and basketball. Kids between the ages of eight and 16 will have the opportunity to improve their game under the guidance of professional instructors.

Weekend sessions will run between 7am and 9am and between 3pm and 11pm, while weekday sessions take place at 7am and again between 3pm and 9pm.

On 9 November, Daman Games will bring a skateboarding competition to La Mer, challenging participants to demonstrate their street skating skills at the specially set-up skate park from 10am to 8pm. In addition, kids and adults can enjoy a series of fun activations including live DJ entertainment.

On 10 November, La Mer’s South Beach will play host to an open water swimming competition for all age groups, with categories including 1600 m, 800 m, 400 m and 200 m. The event will take place from 8am to 12 noon.

On 16 November, the destination will host a Hip-Hop Cardio event from 4pm to 7pm. This fun workout will offer participants the opportunity to exercise while learning new dance moves and enjoying energetic music.

On 23 November, La Mer will also host the X3 Jr Triathlon, presented by Meraas, and organised by XDubai. The event, which is taking place for the second year, is aimed exclusively at young people between 4 and 16 years, and will see young athletes compete in one of seven categories – and course lengths - swimming, cycling and running. The event will also include a race festival that takes advantages of the picturesque attractions at La Mer. The event will start at 7am and continue until 2pm.

Throughout Dubai Fitness Challenge, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of healthy dining offers at Maison de Juliette, Van Houtte, iScream, Levee, AçaiXpress and SLAB, including special prices, discounts, and complementary beverages.
