On The ’One Hour A Day For Reading Initiative’ The TRA Hosts The Emirati Writer Ali Abu Al Reesh

On the one hour a day for reading initiative, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) hosted the Emirati writer Mr. Ali Abu Al Reesh, one of the most prominent Emirati writers of today. He composed many novels, two dramas and prose poetry. One of his most remarkable novels is called Al-A’tiraf (The Confession) that won an award of the most important hundred Arabic novels of the century. Abu al-Reesh has 18 years of journalism work experience in “Al Ettihad” newspaper, and has issued several collections of stories including notable titles such as "the Message" and "the Peace Islands".

During the event, the writer and TRA staff addressed one of the important books entitled "Zayed's moral Personality", which reviews the life of the late H. H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE and the man behind its prosperity. The book goes through the most important virtues of the founding Father and his charitable works, in addition to significant historical moments in his life, starting from initiating the idea of the Union, to the great achievements and quantum leaps achieved under his leadership at all economic, social and cultural levels.

The one hour a day for reading aims to encourage staff to expand their knowledge, complementing the successful efforts by the TRA in the month of reading in line with the vision and guidance of the UAE wise leadership in this regard.

In this context, H.E. Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General – Support Services in the TRA said: “The one hour a day for reading coincides with the Year of Zayed, the UAE founding father, who will stay the man who inspire and guide future generations. It is also part of the UAE's celebration of the month of reading in March of each year, with the aim of establishing the importance of reading and affirming its role in enriching the culture and knowledge of the staff in various fields. This initiative is part of the TRA’s many initiatives and efforts, which led to winning the award of the best federal entity that encourage its staff to read at the UAE Pioneers Award. This award reflects the views of our wise leadership who undertook empowering of the UAE citizens to be able to shape the future and keeping pace with latest knowledge and developments, which contribute to the community’s happiness in the present and future."

The TRA has established a library in its premises, which includes thousands of printed and E- books in various fields to encourage the staff to adopt reading as a habit, as well as encouraging its customers and visitors to read by launching the "Customer happiness Library”.
