Real Estate Sector Urged To Hire More UAE Nationals
(30 April 2018)

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, discussed today with officials representing 60 real estate developers and construction companies the mechanisms and procedures they put in place for hiring UAE locals in the jobs set aside for them.

The meeting, which took place at the ministry's premises in Dubai, also tackled the issue of allocating more jobs for Emiratis with the ultimate objectives of increasing their share in the sector.

It is also a part of a series of meetings held by the minister with the businesses working in the targeted economic sectors to accelerate the process of employing UAE national cadres in certain qualitative jobs.

The move is also comes under the third stage of the UAE Government Accelerators that covers the aviation, transport, telecommunications, technology, real estate development and customer services sectors.

Speaking at the meeting, Al Hamli stressed that the real estate development sector has a very important part to play in realising the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021 that aim at increasing the share of the local people in the private sector to 5 percent besides shifting 50 percent of the UAE working force to the private businesses.

"The real estate sector has witnessed a tremendous growth over the last few years and this qualifies it to provide more jobs for the UAE nationals," he said.

He added, "Our visionary leadership is looking at the issue of increasing the share of the UAE nationals in the workforce as a strategic objective a matter that necessitates the cooperation of both the public and private entities in this regard".

He also lauded the private companies that employed UAE nationals as per the partnership between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Securities and Commodities Authority, SCA, and the targeted businesses.

Attendees have also been briefed on the ministry's new approach, initiatives and programmes to address this crucial issue.
